Overview of the course

History has traditionally been one of the most popular options at AS and A level. As a course of study History develops important skills such as analysis of evidence, the development of informed judgement and the ability to communicate accurately and effectively. The skills developed during the course provide an excellent basis for further study at Higher Education. Studying History will also give you a greater sense of the world we live in by giving you increased understanding of events and the people who have shaped it.

During the course you will study the history of Wales and England during both the Tudor period and 1890 to 1990; examining the main political, economic and social changes of both the periods. We will also study Hitler's dictatorship in Germany and how it affected the lives of the German people.

Opportunities

History is a versatile subject that opens doors to a variety of careers and higher education courses including law and journalism. It also compliments a wide-range of A-level subjects such as English, Media etc.
