The Level 3 Children's Care, Play, Learning and Development: Practice and Theory qualification combines theoretical knowledge in children's care, play, learning and development with the practical skills needed to work within the sector. It allows learners to develop the knowledge and skills required for employment and/or career progression in childcare or health settings. It combines practice units that are assessed within the workplace with additional theoretical knowledge.
Learners are required to attend lessons for 2 days per week, and work placement for 2 days per week.

Completion of the Level 3 Children's Care, Play, Learning and Development: Practice and Theory qualification provides a suitable basis for studying early years, education, or nursing at university. Learners will also be qualified for the following:

• Cylch Meithrin Assistant
• Nanny
• Foundation Phase Assistant
• Day Nursery Assistant
Most courses are two years long unless otherwise stated.
